The use of Jayhawk GPS is one way Academic Success continues to provide quality resources and identify ways to improve every semester. One way this is achieved is through continued expansion of campus partners providing services through Jayhawk GPS to better serve students. Below you'll find information about the implementation process and the future direction of Jayhawk GPS as we strive for continuous quality improvements over time.
Fall 2024
- Appointment scheduling made available through Jayhawk GPS for all:
- Career Advising appointments
- Center for Learning and Writing Support appointments
- Center for Service Learning, Undergraduate Research, and Fellowships appointments
- New Jayhawk Financial Unit appointments
- Expanded progress reporting to include ENGL 101, ENGL 102, and all first-year seminar courses. The full list of courses participating in Progress Reports are
- Partnered with Center for Learning and Writing Support to pilot appointment scheduling for new Peer Academic Coaching support.
- Launched new Hand Raise feature in the Navigate360 Student app allowing students to reach out for assistance when they need it.
- Further expanded user engagement and Academic Success units adoption
- Further expanded Quick Polls through student app
- Developed fully functioning Math Help Room drop-in kiosk
- Increased Jayhawk GPS/Navigate Student app downloads to record levels
- Expanded usage and engagement by incorporating KU Writing Center and Academic Learning Center services in Jayhawk GPS
- Progress Reports expanded to include MATH 104, MATH 115, and MATH 125
- Continued communication coordination efforts to promote the Navigate360 Student app
- Piloted Event Check-in feature through Kiosk tool with campus partners like International Support Services and the Academic Retention & Engagement Center
- Utilized Quick Poll pilot feature through app to gain insights from current students on how they are feeling, their upcoming enrollment plans, and more!
- Implemented strategic efforts to improve student app download numbers and engagement
- Progress Report requests sent to ACCT 200, BIOL 100, MATH 002, and MATH 101 instructors for feedback on students
- Launched new Student Navigator initiative, further expanding student outreach and support
- Added Custom Relationships and Advisor Description in "My Success Team"
- Published Post-Orientation Canvas Course to Introduce Jayhawk GPS/Navigate360 to new Jayhawks
- Began offering undergraduate students in-person or virtual advising appointments
- Progress Reports requests sent to ACCT 200 and BIOL 100 instructors for feedback on students
- Piloted additional Relationships within Jayhawk GPS to communicate a student athlete's academic counselor
- Implemented new Navigate Student app features
- Onboarded Military-Affiliated Student Center and University Access Support Center
- Introduced Personal Advising Link (PAL) for advisors to include in email signatures, etc.
- Piloted Texting feature to reach out to students identified through Progress Reports
